This is an amazing handcrafted Transverso flute made of Boxwood.
The Palanca flute design goes back to the 15th century and is a late Baroque style with oval holes giving a more robust and powerful tone.
Sturdy construction with an external diameter slightly larger than an average Baroque flute.
This Palanca design is known for it’s open, direct and elegant sound with excellent intonation.
Rich, melatonin in slow movements, especially in cross–fingered notes, like F, G #and B.
Versatility across the baroque and early classical repertoire, including works by Bach, Handel and the like.
Fork fingering compatibility, makes it familiar to flutists use to Boehm Flutes.
This Flute was just purchased at an NFA convention in 2024.
It was handmade by Simon Polak, a well-known crafter, and it comes with a lush red velvet carrying case. It’s only been played a few times and is in like-new condition It had been cleaned and comes with a 1-year warranty!
